Senator Blount Presents the Resolution

Thanks to Senator David Blount, the Junior Auxiliary of Byram-Terry (JABT) was recently honored with Mississippi Senate Resolution 16 congratulating us for receiving the President’s Award from the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, an award established to honor all past NAJA presidents. The award is given to recognize chapters that have continued to serve their community while overcoming great obstacles and/or adverse circumstances. We appreciate Senator Blount’s support.

Our August rummage sale at Griffith Memorial Baptist Church raised over $600 for our scholarship fund. Each May, we award at least one scholarship to a student in the Byram-Terry area who has been recommended to us by their school and plans to major in education. Be on the lookout for announcements about our spring rummage sale. We will take donations at any time.

On Saturday, September 6, JABT will have a booth at the Swinging Bridge Festival on the old Byram school site. We will give out information about our organization and offer free samples of Jubilation Cheesecakes–which we are selling for our fall fundraiser. Please come by and place an order for several of these delicious treats for the holidays. They come in all flavors, and several are sugar free.

JABT is a local chapter of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries, headquartered in Greenville, MS, a non-profit organization that encourages its members to render charitable services beneficial to the general public, with particular emphasis on children.

If you are interested in becoming a member of JABT or would like more information about our projects, please either call 601-506-3007 or email us at rebeccaj1975@yahoo.com.
